The discipline of the spiritual path consist of the ability to discipline one's self so as not to see a picture that has to be changed, altered, improved, or removed, and the vision to look out at the pictures this world presents with this conviction, "It is I; be not afraid," and then stand still and bear witness while God brings about the transformation of the visible scene. "It is I; be not afraid......My kingdom is not of this world...cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of?" These are the scriptural passages that have been the foundation of my healing work ever since the early 1930's. Before that, I was doing healing work, but without knowing why or how, or what the principle was. It was, you might say, just a gift of God. But in the early 1930's, I was given the revelation of those three statements. "Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of?" - Do not try to change man, improve him, or heal him, and certainly do not judge or condemn him: take no account of him. In other words be still! Then came, "My kingdom is not of this world." Therefore do not judge by the appearances of this world, because in My Kingdom, harmony is. My Kingdom is a spiritual kingdom. Again you cease from all attempts to change, improve, heal, or reform.
- The Contemplative LifeWhenever I am first presented with any form of error, I "quickly realize" that I am not dealing with persons or conditions: I am dealing only with a suggestion or a belief in a selfhood separate and apart from God. Then I immediately drop all concern for the appearance and go within to commune with God. From then on I rest and relax in God's Omnipresence. -
Conscious Union with God
In The Infinite Way our function is to immediately turn away from any and every problem that presents itself to us. Our function in this message is not in the area of improving matter. Our function is the attainment of the awareness of the Presence of God. The realization of God's Omnipresence is our goal. We then rest in the inner realization of our "spiritual identity" as the only Law, the only Life and the only Reality. This is how we behold the dissolving of all illusory problems that present themselves to us. Not by trying to remove them but by "knowing that they are not there." -
Awakening Mystical Consciousness
Body is one of the infinite forms as which God, the divine Substance and Essence of the universe, is appearing. The body cannot decay or decompose unless we accept the universal belief that we have a material body which functions in time or space. God is the essence and substance of you and of me as flesh and blood and bone. The flesh, the blood, and the bone are only our translation or interpretation of the divine Spirit appearing as all Its forms. There is no such thing as God and your body and my body. It is God appearing as body. It is the same Substance and Spirit of which our consciousness is made, only in another one of Its infinite forms and varieties. -
The World Is NewHypnotism is just as much hypnotism when it appears as good as when it appears as evil. When you come into a state of life, however, where you can look at the harmonious human appearance and recognize it as hypnotism or appearance or suggestion, and when you can look at the inharmonious or discordant human picture and recognize it as the product of the same hypnotism, as appearance or suggestion, then you have arrived at a point in consciousness in which you will not try to improve, heal, or correct the erroneous picture, nor experience undue satisfaction over the harmonious picture. That is because you will know through your spiritual sense that, regardless of the picture or the nature of its appearance, right there is spiritual reality and harmony, right there eternal and immortal being is. -
Realization of Oneness The first step for you is the continuous realization of your oneness with God - the realization of your True Identity. Then comes the understanding of the nature of error as illusion, mirage, suggestion, or nothingness. -
Spiritual Interpretation of ScriptureOur real existence is as Spirit, and only in the degree that we perceive our real existence as Spirit, do we drop the false sense of life as material. Then we see that the structural life of man, animal, and plant is but the false sense of existence; that our concern for the so-called necessities of material living has been unnecessary; that although the beauties we behold all hint at God's creation, they are not that spiritual and perfect creation; that the sick, aging, dying appearances are not at all a part of real life. When we arrive at this state of consciousness, we begin to catch glimpses of eternal spiritual existence, untouched by material conditions or mortal thoughts. As we turn from the world we see, hear, taste, touch, and smell, we catch inspired visions which show forth the earth of God's creating. -
The Infinite WayThere is never a conflict with person or condition, but rather a false concept mentally entertained "about" person, thing or condition. Therefore make the correction within yourself, rather than attempting to change anyone or anything in the without. -
The Infinite Way WisdomsIf your business is lost, if your house or your family is lost, in three days-probably not literally three days, but in a short length of time -I in the midst of you will raise it up if only you can be still, not resist the evil, not fight the danger that threatens you, and let that I that you are, that I that is your true identity, take over. Whether the problem comes in the form of sin or disease, lack or drought, depression or business recession, it has only the "arm of flesh." Sometimes the mesmerism of the world is so strong that almost any person may come under its influence, but as long as he maintains his oneness with the Source of Life which is I AM, even though temporarily his "temple" be wrecked, in three days it will be raised up again. - (Releasing the Spiritual Glory) - The message of The Infinite Way is wholly dedicated to admitting the presence of theChrist into consciousness, and letting It transform us from the human sense of life to the spiritual, not merely changing a bad human sense of life to a good human sense of life. Our interest is not in that direction. Our interest is in surrendering the whole of material sense, even when it is good, and receiving in exchange our divine sonship. The goal of The Infinite Way is to become the son of God, not merely a healthy human being, a good human being, or a wealthy human being, but rather to show in our daily experience our spiritual nature, that which actually was given to us in the beginning: "the glory which I had with thee before the world was," the spiritual glory. That is what we are praying for. -
The Mystical IIn meditation you are never treating a person or a condition. In meditation you are "realizing" the Truth that whatever the problem is that is presenting itself to you is "the arm of flesh," an appearance or nothingness. -
Realization of OnenessRegardless of what problems present themselves to you in your experience the solution is always in your ability to Be Still and feel the very Presence of God. In proportion as you can relax in an inner conviction that this Presence is the "only reality" will you behold the problems of this world dissolve of their own nothingness. -
Man Was Not Born to CryTreatment is always a recognition of the "nothingness" of the condition and deals only with God and the qualities of God - God as infinite good, the infinite all, the infinite Presence, the infinite effect. Finally, the realization is achieved that God is the "all-in-all" and besides God there is nothing else. You will have to come to see that there cannot be such a thing as a patient because there could not be a person, personality, or individuality apart from God, nor could there be a condition or circumstance apart from God. -
The Art of Spiritual HealingHealing work in The Infinite Way has nothing to do with healing anyone of disease, sin, fear, lack or limitation. It has to do with our not accepting a false appearance as reality. -
The World Is NewYou may be confronted with evidences of misunderstanding, but what difference does it make what the "appearance" is? Right where that appearance is foisting itself upon your mind, "GOD IS" - You are dealing only with God because God is the only Reality. You are not dealing with beliefs, persons or conditions. -
The Art of Spiritual Healing
All treatment as practiced in the message of The Infinite Way is "self treatment." We are always treating ourselves from accepting the belief in a power or a selfhood apart from God. -
Spiritual Interpretation of Scripture
To remove any problem in your experience you must "see through" the belief that it has presence or power. There is only one demonstration to make in the message of The Infinite Way and that is the demonstration of the
Omnipresence of God. Never pray to remove a problem or a condition but rather rest in the realization of it's nothingness. -
Realization of Oneness
Truth to be Truth must be absolute Truth. We are concerned now with the Truth that we individualize infinite power. We must not look to a power outside of, or apart from, ourselves. -
The Infinite Way
We are not here to change the world directly, because it is impossible. We are here as students of Truth, regardless of which approach to Truth we may be following. We are here but for one purpose, to purify ourselves, our own consciousness, so that we may partake of the Grace of God and show forth by our demonstration what spiritual fruitage is, even if it is in terms of human good. And thereby be a light unto the world in which it can follow. (
Class 305, Side 1)
The unfoldment that came to me, however, is that the food we eat does not nourish us. It is the Soul at the center of our being that imparts to the food the value that we are to derive from it. In reality, all food that we take in is harmless, and if it has any qualities of world belief that are harmful, it cannot hurt us since our enlightened consciousness does not empower it to be harmful, and in and of itself it is not harmful. As many times as we eat each day, let us realize that whatever of value there is in food comes from our consciousness. -
Consciousness Is What I AmIn healing work, we must turn from the structural universe which we see. We must remember that we are not called upon to heal it, change it, alter it, correct it, or save it. We are first of all to realize that it exists only as illusion, as the false sense of life. From this vantage point in consciousness, we behold through spiritual sense the "house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens." -
The Infinite Way
Each one must make the realization of an inner Presence a daily practice in his life. Constantly there must be the reminder that this Presence within is greater than any problem that he faces in daily living or any situation he meets in the outer world. With this must come the conscious realization of the principle… that gives us our ultimate freedom… "I have overcome the world." To reach a state of consciousness where the world has no effect on you… where you function completely through spiritual law. -
